Jacob is 1. Nate and Zack are 3!!!!

Jake, Nate, and Zack just celebrated their birthdays this past weekend. We had a number of family members and friends in attendance. We also got Jake baptised. So, it was a pretty busy day.

Jake just had his 1 year doctor's appointment. He weighed in at 23.0 lbs and was 32" tall. He is in the 97th percentile on height and well ahead of his brothers in both categories.

Jake is not walking on his own yet, but he is moving around while holding on to furniture, legs, toys, etc. Any day now he will be walking without assitance.

Nate and Zack continue to develop into little men. They really love pre-school and like to talk about what they did each day. They only go twice a week for 2.5 hours at a time, but they really do enjoy it.

Sara is almost through the first quarer of 8th grade and doing great. She is babysitting a lot for local families and she is very helpful with Jake.

Mama and Papa Hud continue to survive and can't wait until the kids are all in college...

    New Measurements - Jacob

Jacob just had his 9 month appointment and everything went great. He is now 30" tall and weighs in at 20 lbs. That puts him at 98th percentile in height and 50th percentile in weight. He is going to be a big boy...

    Long time between posts...

I just noticed that it has been nearly six months since the last update on here... time flies...

Anyway, everyone is doing great at the Hudson House. Sara just finished the 7th grade with straight 'A's'!!! She had been doing competitive jumprope, but hurt her back and knees. So, no Nationals this year. In fact, she might give up jump rope all together. It involves so much strain on the body. We had bone scans and MRI's done and they never found anything wrong with her. 13 is just too young to be sustaining a permanent injury... Hopefully, she will go back to playing soccer and hoops.

Zack and Nate are loving the summer. We go to the park nearly every single day. The twins have tricycles that they have not figured out how to peddle yet, but they still love Daddy pushing them around. Their verbal skills continue to get better everyday. Now if we can just keep them from tamtruming....

Jake is just amazing. He is the happiest kid of all four of the kids. He is always smiling. We are not sure who he looks like the most, but does not have Nate or Mama Hud's fair skin. He does not have a lot of hair yet, so we don't even know if it is straight or curly or the color. His eyes are gray/green.

Papa Hud is coming up on one year with his new company Syniverse. Mama Hud is surviving all of the drama of four kids at home. We recently hired a local college student to come in for about 12 hours a week to help out Mama Hud and she has been great.

The current Hudson House is up for sale, but the market is rather slow these days. We are hopeful that we will sell it by the end of the summer, but if not we can wait. We need to get more space to accomodate all of the kids...

    Update on the Hudsons

A lot has been happening in the new year at the Hudson House. Baby Jake just turned four months old and he keeps growing more and more. He just had a doctors appt and he weighed 16 lbs even and he was 26" long. That puts him at 50th percentile on weight and 75th percentile on height. He looks more and more like his brother Zack, but he has more of his brother Nate's disposition.

Even though we just moved into our current house about two years ago, we just put it up for sale. We orinally thought we would do an addition to add more rooms and space. However, we had not planned on dealing with Jacob (plus the twins) and the costs were a bit higher than we thought. We have several houses in Kirkland that we really like. They all have at least five bedrooms. So, everyone gets their own room (except Mama and Papa Hud). We hope to sell our house quickly and get moving with the next chapter in our lives.

Sara continues to do great in school. Her first official report card included straight 'A's' and is getting her special 'honors' in English and Social Studies. Go Sara....

Papa Hud's new job is going well. He does not have to travel nearly as much as when he worked at MSFT. The added bonus is that he can help out Mama Hud with all of the wild and crazy boys. Mama Hud is doing great. She is feeling like her old self after the birth of Jacob and looking forward to more sunshine and blue skies.

    Update on Jacob Earl...

Last Monday the 10th, Jake has his 2 month visit to the pediatrician. He is doing great. He weighed in at 10 lbs, 11 oz and has grown to nearly 23" long. It is amazing how quickly things change. He is a really good kid and Momma and Papa Hud like just hanging with the little man.

The twins are still adjusting to their new brother. They have not try to kill him yet, so that is a sign that we should be okay. Momma and Papa Hud are not getting a ton of sleep, but we are doing pretty well. Jake is a very good sleeper and eater. He also keeps us busy changing diapers. In other words, he is just like his older brothers.

Sara is doing great in school. She got her report card a while ago and had straight A's in all of her classes. She is adjusting to Jr. High very well. She is also keeping busy with jumprope and babysitting.

    Jake and Mama Hud Update

Mama and Jake came from the hospital on Friday at noon. This was less than 48 hours after the C-Section surgery, which is quite amazing. The last time, Mama Hud was in the hospital for a nearly a full week to recover.

Everyone is doing great. Jake is eating constantly and is keeping everyone hopping. He is very cute and very tiny. It is hard to imagine that the twins were ever this small, but they were even smaller!!! Speaking of the twins, they are over their initial indifference to Jake. When we first got home, Nate wanted the baby to go 'bye bye' and bought him his hat. Zack keeps bringing Jake toys to play with. The other night, both boys went up to Jake to kiss him goodnight. That was amazing to watch. They now accept that this little baby will be here for awhile.

Grammy Hud came into town on Saturday and is a huge help around the house. Papa Hud goes back to work shortly and Grammy will be a huge help to get us through the trials of managing three small boys and a (nearly) teenage girl....

    Jacob Earl Hudson

Jacob (Jake) Earl Hudson was born at 5.08 pm on Wednesday October 17th. He weighed 6 lbs, 4 oz and was 19.5 " long.

Mama Hud is doing great. She is recovering from the C-Section, but so far she seems fine. We hope to have her home very soon.

Thanks to everyone for the prayers and wishes of good luck. They paid off.

Look for more pictures in the days, weeks, months, and years ahead.

    Two Year Old Boys!!!

Just getting around to updating things here. Well, we recently took Nathaniel and Zachary to their annual pediatrician appointments. Everything went great. They are healthy and BIG!! They are exactly the same height (36 1/4"), but Zack outweighs his older brother by exactly two pounds (30 lbs, 4 oz to 28 lbs, 4 oz). They are at the 93rd percentile in height, which is great. Zack is clocking in at 80th percentile in weight and Nate is at 50th. This is amazing when  you consider that they started life at around 10 to 15th percentile on weight.

Both of our little guys are doing great and learning a ton of new things every day. They are both doing much better with their verbal skills, but Zack sill prefers to use sign language over words. Nate is our little parrott. He repeats nearly everything he hears. Right now, their favorite things are cho-chos, bulldozers, Woody and Buzz, juice, their new pillows, their old blankets, getting coozy with Mama Hud, and Sissy. They are not sure what to make of Mama's belly, but they will be in for a huge shock when their baby brother comes home later this week.

Look for new photos and blog entry for the Baby Hud that is due to arrive on 10/17/07 at 5 pm PDT.

    What's New?

It has been quite awhile since my last comments here. So, I thought I would freshen things up a bit.

We have an official due date!!! Mama Hud is due to undergo a C-Section on October 10th at 5 pm.  We were surprised by the late time for a surgery, but we won't complain. We are just looking forward to meeting our new son. Papa Hud will take off a few weeks from his new job and Grammy Hud comes into town for additional support.

Sissy Hud (also known as Sara) just started 7th Grade at Kirkland Jr. High. She really likes this new experience and so far is doing great. She had to stop playing soccer this year, so she could focus full time on jump rope. Not sure when her first tournament is yet, but we will add pictures from that event I'm sure. While she was originally hoping for a sister, she kind of likes the fact that she will be the only girl in the family.

The twins are just amazing. They are growing like weeds and developing new skills all the time. Nate has much better verbal skills right now, but Zack is starting to get better with his words. Zack is definitely ahead when it comes to his coordination. He can throw a ball with great accuracy and he can run well without falling over his own feet. Nate is still working on this throwing skills and gets better all the time with his running. All in all, they are just a blast to hang out with and play with (unless they are tired or hungry).

The boys are great sleepers now. We put them down to sleep at around 8 pm every night and usually do not hear anything from them until 7 am the next morning. We recently converted their cribs into todler beds and they can now easily come in and out. At night, this does create any problems, but during nap times we have challenges. Some days they will play in their room for 10 minutes before falling asleep. Other days, it can take over an hour. You would not believe the kind of trouble they can get into in just an hour...

The boys turn two next week and we are having a birthday party for them on Saturday the 6th. Look for new pictures at that time and birth pictures shortly after that.

    Update on the Hudsons

It has been over three months since the last update about the Hudsons. Things have been really busy over here. Let me give you a brief overview of what's new.

    • Papa Hud hit the big 4-0 in April. Mama Hud turns 33 for the 7th time later this year.
    • Papa Hud has a new job. He left Microsoft about a month ago and he now works for Sniverse Technologies. Syniverse provides services to mobile operators. Papa Hud will be the Director of Sales for the Northwest US with responsibility for T-Mobile, Microsoft, and others.
    • Mama Hud is 6 months pregnant with another boy. The due date is October 24th, which is exactly two years from the original due date for the twins.  Mama Hud is doing great and looks even better. Being pregnant with only one is a piece of cake compared to having twins. The only problem with having another boy is that we are running out of names.
    • Sara went to the National Jump Roping Championships in Orlando in late June. She competed in seven events. While she did not win any ribbons, it was a great experience for her and she had a great time. Mama Hud went with her and Papa Hud played 'Mr Mom' for six days with the twins. Papa Hud and the boys survived (we actually had a great time).
    • The Hudson House is undergoing major updates.
      • We had a new roof put on.
      • We replaced our skylight.
      • We have had all new door locks, handles, and hinges added (they used to be all gold/brass and they are now all brushed/satin nickel).
      • We have replaced all of the faucets and shower heads/controls.
      • We have replaced the shower enclosures.
      • Every room in the house has been painted.
      • We had our hot tub removed and the deck rapaired where it used to be.
      • We had our fence replaced after it blew down in a storm this past wintter.
      • We had our foundation footings upgraded and some other foundation repairs done.
      • We are having the exterior of our house painted next week.
      • We are having new carpet installed in the bonus room.
      • I think that might be it for now....
    • The reason for all of the fixing up is that we need a bigger house. With six people in one house, three bedrooms is not enough space. We want to find a house with at least four bedrooms to accomodate all of the kids.

I think that might be it for all of the news. I will update things again when we have new pictures to share.

    18 Months Old

The Hudson Boys just turned 18 months old this past week. They continue to grow and develope. The other day, Nate said, "Bye-bye, Daddy." That was amazing. Zack is not nearly as verbal as Nate, but he is still a smart kid (though he is a bit more rowdy).

The boys just had their 18 month appointments at the doctor and we have new measurements.

    Nate - 34" tall (90th percentile), 24 lbs, 4 oz (33rd percentile)
    Zack - 34.25" tall (95th percentile), 25 lbs, 8 oz (50th percentile)

The boys are staying tall and starting to catch up on thier weight. They had previously only been at about 20th-30th percentile in weight. It is good to see them start to fill out a bit.
